Is not having any products to promote, holding you back from starting an internet marketing business? Or is it the case you do not have a clue what type of products you should be promoting? If that’s the case, carry on reading, because in this article, I will share simple 3 step process that will enable you to get started, without any products.

Let’s get started

Step one – Get into a high-demand, high-paying niche.

This may sound like I am going against the grain to what some internet marketing gurus preach, as a lot of them preach find a niche where there’s a relatively high amount of search engine searches and there’s low competition.

There’s several problems with this. The main one being, there’s usually low competition, because there isn’t much money in the niche or people are reluctant to pay for a solution. However, there could be a slim chance that the niche could be unique and there’s a chance of the market growing, like teaching about Facebook marketing around 2005. Whereby you could initially end up as a big fish in a small pond and as the market grows, become a bigger player. However this is akin to finding a needle in a haystack. For your first business, it is best to stick to a niche you are familiar and have knowledge or are willing to get knowledge in.

If you’re wondering how you’ll compete and differentiate yourself from the competition, all will be revealed in next couple of steps.

Step Two – Communicate on demand, with the people in the niche.

How do you do that?

Through building a list. Creating squeeze page and providing something of value to your potential customer, in return for their for their email address. This could be something as simple as a PDF report, MP3, video or newsletter.

Two things you’ll need, to do this, an autoresponder and webhosting.

Once you’ve got that in place, get involved in content marketing.

Step Three – Find out the wants and needs are of the people in your list.

This is the most important step, by asking engaging questions that are geared to identifying the wants and need of the people in your list. This would enable you to, either create your own products or recommend products from other seller. As your subscribers are telling you exactly what they want and need.

With a little bit of probing, you should be able to get all the information you need for your sales page

You can ask questions like:

What do you want to achieve in the next 30/60/90 days

What’s your greatest challenge

What’s holding you back

Here’s some bonus steps to really set you apart from the crowd.

Position yourself as an expert in that niche.

Create a coaching program revolving around what they want & need.
