I will be the first to tell you that Network Marketing is not everyone’s cup of tea. The structure of the typical Network Marketing opportunity is set up to appeal to the superstars in the business and not at all the average person looking to make a couple of hundred extra dollars a month. It seems like in most cases, it is either all or nothing.

People get into Network Marketing most of the time because they are promised the possibility of success without effort. Even though it is possible in many opportunities to get that right person in your down line where you can ride on his or her coat tail to some income that you did not have to earn, you will never get rich with this approach and finding that person without putting any effort into the business is not likely.

The real world strategy of Network Marketing success is determination and of course a plan of action.

The first step in any success strategy having to do with the Network Marketing industry is finding the right opportunity that will enable you to see real success. The right or wrong opportunity has everything to do with success or failure in this business regardless of what others might say about this subject. The sad truth is that there are some Network Marketing companies out there that make it almost impossible to see real success. While others make success possible, but there is no real value in the business or the value is there but the price is not quite right.

The key is to find an opportunity that has a great product a lot of people need and want, priced right with a fair compensation plan. An opportunity like this is getting harder and harder to find now days, but believe me when I say that there are opportunities like this out there. A great opportunity will not charge you an arm and a leg to sell the product, after all, companies that use the Network Marketing business model do so to cut down on their advertising costs. It is much cheaper to have your customers promote the product than it is to pay millions of dollars for a nation wide advertising campaign.

A company that requires you to be a customer to sell its products is well within its rights. After all, why would any company want representatives selling products that they have not tried and do not believe in. It is important to believe in the product or service that you are promoting because people can sense it if you do not. This is why the Network Marketing company that you affiliate yourself with must have great products.

Once you find the right company you must now come up with a marketing approach. Companies that allow you to use the Internet to promote the products are the kind of companies that can give you the potential for much easier success. The great thing about the Internet is that it is easier to attract people who are in the Network Marketing industry already. these are people who will build your team because they already know what they are doing.

With any Network Marketing opportunity you want to have a two fold marketing approach. On the one hand you want to promote the product or service that you are selling to customers who are interested in buying it. On the other hand you want to promote the opportunity to those who are interested in building the business. Whenever you have an opportunity that does not charge for the opportunity itself, but requires that you be a customer, you always want to lead with the product. If the person is not interested in the product you can mention the opportunity but it is always better to find people interested in the product as well as the opportunity because these people will be more motivated to build the business.

Even if an opportunity does not allow you to promote the products directly using the Internet, you can still use the Internet to generate leads for your business. Here is what I suggest if the company does not allow you to promote the product directly using the Internet. Buy two domain names and set up a simple capture page that allows people to download a free informational product if they provide their contact information. Make sure that you set this up with an auto-responder that requires email validation. Also make sure that you get the potential customers phone number. I find that about one in four leads on average will provide you with the right phone number. On the first domain, provide an informational resource that has to do with the Network Marketing Industry. This will appeal to those who are interested in a Network Marketing opportunity. Make sure you separate the leads into different lead lists, as to make sure you call the right customer with the right approach. On the second domain, you provide an informational resource that has to do with the product, but does not mention the product if the company does not allow you to promote the product online. This way you capture leads and at least have their email address where you can send follow up emails and monetize off of them whether they gave you the right phone number or not.

If the Network Marketing company you are affiliated with does allow you to promote the products or services directly use the same approach but be direct in your email follow-ups. remember that it can take seven or more times before a customer will even open your emails. If you have a professional layout for your email your response rate for the opportunity will be higher. Remember also to monetize off of your list whether they join your opportunity or not. Provide your list with useful information that appeals to whatever it is they are interested in. Throw in a freebie every once in a while with your money mails in between. Eventually, if you keep sending them valuable information, they will buy from you, join your opportunity or both.

If your Network Marketing opportunity provides you with a website, you definitely want to buy two domain names, one forwarded to your product page and the other forwarded to your opportunity page if your website is set up that way. Put links to both websites all over the Internet in blogs, hub pages, YouTube and all of the other social networking and social media sites. After a couple of months, buy two more domain names and forward them to your product and your opportunity page. Take the domain names with all of the back links and turn them into informational websites with capture pages that also provide links to your product and opportunity pages. The purpose of this is to get listed in the search engines for your product and your opportunity. The back links will be there before you even put your site up on the Internet. This will help you tremendously in getting listed. The reason you want to take this approach is because more than likely your Network Marketing opportunity website and product website will not get listed because they are replicated websites, meaning that there are hundreds or thousands of them all over the Internet. The key to high search engine rankings is content, title, keywords, domain name and last but not least, other websites linking yo your website.

Marketing your products and opportunity off line is just as important. If you are selling nutritional products it is always good to have an extra supply so that customers can sample the goods. This is why it is important to have a great product. If you are selling another type of physical product, you should always have one on hand so the potential customer can see it for themselves.

Instead of handing business cards to everyone you meet, wait until you get into a conversation. If it is a waiter at the cafe, I always say hey man I like your attitude. Then we get into a conversation that leads to me handing him or her my business card with my domain name on it that is forwarded to my opportunity site. If I am in a conversation with someone who fits the demographic of my product, I do the same thing with a domain name forwarded to my product page.

The key to Network Marketing is building relationships and being creative with the way that you talk to people. Remember that people are buying you as much as your product and they are joining you as much as your opportunity. Be likable and use the right tactics for the right people.

Lastly, make it a point, no a mandate to sign up at least two people to your opportunity each week. Don’t put yourself under pressure and get stressed out about it, just make up your mind that this is the minimum. if you are relaxed, confident, professional and know you will succeed, you will.
